CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF A MOTHER
Matrescence (or the process of becoming a mother) is an initiation that requires a deep level of support, no matter how many times you move through it. In this offering, your soul family and friends come together to form a sacred container, holding space for you as you embark on this rite of passage.
This ceremonial offering holds mothers-to-be as they approach birth and/or motherhood – whether by birth or adoption. It is suitable for all women and can replace or accompany a baby shower.
While each blessing is unique, there are a few cornerstones to this offering:
Each guest will take a seat on a cushion in the circle. The mother blessing will open with a ceremonial caring for you (the mother-to-be), such as a foot bath, foot massage with all-natural essential oils or a sage clearing of the space.
Rose essential oil is passed around for everyone to place on their heart. The group will then be led in a guided meditation that allows everyone the opportunity to hold you in their hearts and minds while you receive their energetic support.
We will then talk about the kind of support that the postpartum period calls for, so that your people can show up in the way they are most needed leading up to and after the baby arrives.
Everyone will bring a bead that represents a specific energy that they wish to offer you for the road ahead. They have the option to speak into the circle based on specific guidelines we will offer as they thread the bead onto a thread.
We will create a priceless necklace with the offering beads, and you can wear it as we sit together and connect over refreshments.
